Moctezumas Mexician Restaurant
This was one of my earliest projects where I got to show off my design and fabrication chops right out of the gate. I was given a large design role on the interior of the restaurant space as well as full control over the mall entry and tortilla bar. The above shot captures the moment where all of my design elements come together into a cohesive vignette.
I also oversaw the design and production of the corten screening. I have a strong digital fabrication background and was given the task of developing cut patenrs to have these laser cut. The screen connections also show my early ability to detail how complex fabricationscan come together.
Wood screens
I designed and detailed out the simple fir screen and kerf plate connection shown above. I have a love for elevating simple materials to make something like a 2x4 feel like a rich material. For more examples click here
Feature branded screen
This screen pattern was an effort in coordination and percise planning. I worked with a steel fabricator out of Seattle to solve the prcess in which these screens could be made to look seamless. The pattern is cut right to the edge of the piece and then folded back to create a connection tab. Intergrating the branding into the pattern was a precise process to ensure the branding connected after erection of the entire assembly.
